Other activities included observing pollution dispersion and using Kill-A-Watt meters to determine 'phantom energy', the amount of energy used by an appliance when it is not on.
Participants appreciated being given the Kill-A-Watt meters and many other items which NYSERDA provided to them for their classrooms.
